Reitschule Fur Damen: Nach Dem Lady's Equestrian Manual
Braunschweig, Oehme & Muller, 1839. Hardcover. Brown cloth binding with blind debossed boards and gilt lettering and decoration on the spine. 92 pp. Illustrated throughout. Marbled edges. German. "Riding school for women: after the Lady's equestrian manual." A book outlining principles of horsewomanship and proper sidesaddle technique, from general care to jumping. An interesting look into how the German classical riding tradition translated to women who partook of the sport. VG-, some stains on cover and endsheets, foxing throughout, pencil markings on front flyleaf and some wear to front hinge. Still very readable.
